Strata Trust Accountant

About the Role
This role offers the chance to manage a diverse portfolio while delivering exceptional service to clients. You will oversee financial accounts for a body corporate, ensuring accurate reporting, and assisting with financial inquiries from owners, committees, tax agents, and strata managers. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the trust accounts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Handle daily receipting and payments.
- Reconcile trust accounts regularly, investigating and resolving any discrepancies as they arise.
- Prepare and submit monthly financial reports, including trust account levies, balances, and reconciliations, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and strata regulations.
- Assist owners, committees, strata managers and other stakeholders with financial queries and provide them with accurate and timely information.
- Support the Administration Department with Compliance Registers.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
- Experience with StrataMaster or similar strata accounting software (preferred requirement).
- Highly self-motivated, with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently within the team.
- Strong focus on processes and procedures, with advanced computer literacy.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills to effectively prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong discretion and the ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality and trust.
